The Twilight Legacy

Okay, so I finally saw the Twilight movie...Then I figured that it is my blog, so I have every right to voice my opinion. So I hope no one takes offense (directed at you die hard Twilight fans), but here it goes! I absolutely refused to see this movie in theaters. So Jon and I waited until it came out on DVD and then borrowed from my mother-in-law. It wasn't worth even spending a dollar at the dollar theaters to see it. And we were right, it was worth exactly what we paid to see it, nothing. I was still hesitant to see it, but Jon insisted that he wanted to watch it so we could make fun of it. And that's exactly what we did. This movie was totally random. If it had come into theaters without ever being a book first, it would have failed. It is not done well as a film. Though it was kinda fun to watch, and I did enjoy parts of it, other parts were simply hysterical! For example, the entire scene where Bella tells Edward that she knows he is a vampire, had Jon and I busting our guts with laughter. It was just funny!! The acting was terrible and very overly dramatic. After that scene though, I do admit, the movie got better. It wasn't a bad as I thought it was going to be. But it certainly will never be a movie in our DVD collection. The graphics were terrible. The first time we see Edward take Bella on his back and run was just weird looking, after that though, the running got better. And what the heck was with Edward's sparkling skin?!?! He looked more like a scaly fish or an algae covered rock then a sparkling vampire!! Oh, and Robert Pattinson is STILL not cute!! Vampire or not, that guy is weird looking and, in my opinion, not even remotely attractive! They really could have chosen a better Edward. I think my favorite part of the movie was watching Alice! She is so cute! Jon liked her too!! I also liked the part when Rosalie got mad and broke the salad bowel! Haha! So yeah, all-in-all, a terrible movie but it was fun to watch anyway!

Wait List Blues

The University of Michigan

Yesterday we found out that Jon got put on the waiting list at Washington University in St. Louis. This really sucked. He has only been accepted to 1 school. He was wait listed at 2, turned down at some others, and we are still waiting to hear from the University of Utah. We don't actually want to go the U of U, but it would be nice to find out how much money they would be willing to give him to go there. Jon would be really angry if the U of U turned him down. Especially since they are #49 in the country, where the University of Michigan (where he got accepted) is #11 or so.

It was really sad to find out that he was wait listed. I felt SO bad for him. He really deserves more than that! He worked hard, got a good score on the MCAT, did well at his interviews, yet he has only been accepted to 1 school. He really deserves better. It has also been tough to watch one of our friends, who is also going to medical school this fall, be accepted at almost all of the schools that he applied for.

So, right now it looks like we are about 98% sure that we will be moving to Ann Arbor, Michigan! I'm pretty excited! Jon said Ann Arbor was beautiful and he really liked the school there too! There is still a small chance that he will get accepted to one of the schools that put him on the wait list, but we have no idea and really want to start planning to go somewhere, so we will still probably choose Michigan even if he gets accepted at another school.

Only 45 more days until we move!!!

Our Creativity

These are the scrapbook pages that Jonathan and I have made together!! With the help of my Mom of course! (They should be clickable so you can see them better.)

And these are the baby pages that my Mom made for me! (So cute!!):

Fun in the Sun

Jonathan and I got to go down to Arizona to visit my family for the last time before we move. My brother came down as well, which was great since we haven't had everyone together since they moved down to Arizona last summer. We had such a good time!! We took lots of pictures, went to the park, played in the pool, and ate at In N Out everyday! Haha! It was fabulous!

It was also kinda sad though since we knew that it would be the last time for a while. My family is planning to come and visit us when we are in Sacramento this summer, but after that...who knows. It might not be for quite some time. My sister Amber seemed to really pay attention to the fact that it was the last time we would be together for a while. It hit her pretty hard and on Sunday morning when we left, she started to cry. It made me so sad to see her like that, but it meant SO much to me that she cared that much. Especially since lately, I have been feeling like no one realizes or cares that I'm leaving and I won't be coming back this time. Amber also cried at our wedding, she is such a sweetheart and I love her to pieces!!

Kira and her friend Keith hung out a lot while we were there. We teased her a lot about it, but they were cute. Skyler, my brother, brought down his girlfriend Shantell, and we had a good time spending time with them since we don't seem to see them very often, even though they live just down the street. We had family pictures taken while we were there. The photographer took them outside in the backyard. It was so great not to take them in a studio! I am not really a fan of in studio pictures! I can't wait to see how the pictures turned out!

My Mom gave me a bunch of scrapbooking supplies so that I can get started on doing them on my own. We have made a page with my Mom everytime we came down. We have some cute pages!! She also made me pages for when I have a baby. She made some for a friend and decided to make me some as well. They are so cute!! They are for a boy, and just looking at the pages made me want to have a boy! Haha! She is so talented!! My Dad also took off work so that he could be with us while we were down there. It was awesome to spend so much time with him! I love my family so much and I am really going to miss them!!

On the way home, we ran into a wind/sand storm. It was crazy! We were worried that it might get to the engine, but we made it through just fine.

Other than that, not much else is happening right now. We are just waiting to leave for the summer, though we are WAY busy until then. We have NO free weekends, every single one is booked with one thing or another. I'm excited for it! I'm glad we won't be bored while we wait!! We have 3 other trips planned before we leave for California in just over 1 month. We will be driving out to Sacramento twice so that Jon can get some sales down there. We will also be flying out to Michigan for second look weekend for medical school. I'm excited but nervous too. Most of what is planned is for Jon, so I'll be bored part of the time. Plus we are planning on staying with some of Jon's relatives, who I have only met once before. I don't really like staying at other people's houses, it is just uncomfortable, especially if I don't know them well.

My really good friend Micah is coming home from his mission sometime in the beginning of April!! I am so excited!! It sucks that I won't get to really spend any time with him before I leave, but at least he is coming home before I do so that I can at least say goodbye. He is so great!

Anyway, things are going well!! I'm really excited for what the future has in store for us!!

My Amazing Sisters

I LOVE MY SISTERS!! I have been thinking about them a lot lately because I miss them dearly. They live too far away now and I miss the bonding time we got when we lived in the same house. Ahh, the good times we have had!

Kira is 17 years old and is such a doll! She definitely is very stylish and loves fashion! Clothes, jewelry, shoes...the works. This girl always looks cute and she looks good in EVERYTHING! You could almost hate her for it! She is lots of fun. When we were little it always use to be me and her as 'partners' for whatever we were doing. Amber and Skyler were the other two. It just always turn out that way and we certainly got really close. I remember it was taking a long time for her to read one of the Harry Potter books, and since I wanted her to start the next one, I spent time with her every night reading to her. I loved it! We loved being crazy and annoying together and spent one summer afternoon singing the Barney theme song really loud from out of the living room window! Kira is so sweet. She can be pretty sensitive and that is totally okay! She has such a big heart and only wants people to be happy. She is also little Miss Popular at school!

Amberlee is 15 years old and is super spunky! She goes by Amber most of the time. Amber loves to draw!! She is really pretty good too, I'm always impressed by the work she does. She really enjoys it. She even drew me a picture of Bambi the last time we went to visit them (I LOVE Bambi). She also drew me a picture for my birthday! Amber is so funny! She loves to quote movies and tell jokes, she always makes me laugh so hard! As we got older, Amber and I began to spend a little more time together. When we went to Disneyland, she was my buddy and we would always say "Hey buddy" to each other in a silly voice. It seems that since then we have had a closer relationship than we previously had. We always played pretty rough, once she hit me in the mouth on accident when I had braces, ouch! Amber is very trustworthy, you can always count on her to follow through and to brighten up your day.

I miss both of my sisters SO much! I miss playing around with them and doing silly things. We used to go outside when there was a storm and whenever we heard thunder we would scream at the top of our lungs. We would play barbies and house all the time. Usually when we played house, one of us would be the person and the other two would be dogs. We sure did a lot on our hands and knees as kids. I can't even remember how many trampoline burns I got from trying to be horses with my sisters (much more fun on the trampoline than on solid ground)! We used to watch the Harry Potter movies and take turns acting the parts of Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Of course we all wanted to Hermione and none of us wanted to be Harry, but we took turns. I can quote almost the entire first movie now! Haha! Once we were watching the 4th movie (Goblet of Fire) and we were at the part near the beginning when the World Cup is being attacked. The trio is in the dark and then the good guys start shooting at them. Well, my sisters weren't paying attention and I grabbed them both and said "DUCK!" They both screamed and dropped to the floor, totally unaware of what was going on. It was hilarious! It's definitely my favorite story to tell! I'm sure they won't be surprised to read that I told it here too!

Anyway, I love my sisters to pieces. They are my best friends and I wish I could see them more often. It is going to be so hard when I move away and can't visit them every month. It'll be sad that my kids (when they are little at least) won't really know their Aunts very well. I wish they would be able to.

I love you guys so much. You make me so happy and I don't know where I would be without the two of you. You're the best friends in the world a sister could ever ask for! I love you!

Working Hard

Jonathan went out of town this week. He left for California on Wednesday night and will be back today. It's been a little easier than I thought it would be because I have been pretty busy, but it was still pretty weird. The longest Jon and I have been apart since we got married was just overnight when he went to medical school interviews, so it was kinda hard. It was also kinda weird because when we were dating Jon went to California for 3-1/2 months to sell security systems, so to have him call me from California was deja vu a bit! Plus, he even went to Modesto, which was were he was selling that year. It was so weird! The pictures are of when I went down to visit him in Cali that year, 2007. Yes, my hair looks terrible. The top one is on the grounds of the Oakland Temple. The bottom one is us eating at an Italian restaurant called Pante Rei in San Francisco! It's amazing food!

Anyway, he went there to do a little selling and look at the apartments that we are going to be living in. They are called Siena Villas and they are in Elk Grove. From the pictures I found online, it looks pretty nice. It made me more excited to go down to Cali this summer! He sold 2 systems while he was down there! It was so awesome! He has been having a hard time selling here in Utah, he got 1 a little while ago, but it took him a long time to get a sell here. It's good to know that he can still sell, it's just that Utah is hard. Blah, the closer it gets for us to move, the more I really start to dislike Utah and can't wait to get out of here. I still want to come back eventually though.

While he was gone I got a ton of my online schooling finished! Hopefully the extra time will add up and I will be more likely to get done when I want to. All in all, this week has been fairly uneventful. For us at least...

Our good friends Shelli and Eldon had their baby this week! Her name is Chiara! Congratulations to them! They'll be awesome parents!
