Simply Having A Wonderful Christmastime

We put the lights up on our house over the weekend!! It looks awesome!! Jon still wants to do a little more but that won't be done until after we get back from our trip to Utah!! (We leave in a week from today! Crazy!!)

Jon also fixed up the car to get it ready for the winter.  We had to get a new battery because it kept dying on us! Jon figured out that it was because it was leaking so it was losing power really fast! But he fixed it up by himself as well as bunch of other things that needed to be done and now it's all ready for the winter and we saved a butt load of money because we didn't need to have a mechanic do it! My husband is so great! He is such a good handyman!! He also put up a gutter over our front door because since we didn't have one and we kept getting dripped on whenever it rained!

It still hasn't snowed here and I AM SO SAD!! Mostly because I don't think it will snow before we leave and I bet it will snow before I get back (3 weeks later) and that means I will MISS our first snow in Michigan!! Poo!!

AND I found out from Jon yesterday that Stephens brand hot cocoa is a FREAKING UTAH thing!!! NOOOOOO!!!! Stephens is the best!!! They don't have anything awesome out here!! What about all the different flavors?!?! Chocolate mint, french vanilla, and my all time favorite Irish cream (YUM!)!! I don't know what I'm gonna do, it sucks, but I guess it is just hot cocoa, I'm sure I'll survive!!

They started playing Christmas music on the radio though!!! YAY!!!!! I am so excited!!! It's definitely Christmastime!! The commercials on the radio and TV are filled with Christmas ads and it's the best!! We got peppermint bark at Costco yesterday!! It is to DIE for!!!! You must try some!!

So things are going well! I am loving my nursery calling in church. Those kids are so precious!! I'll share some stories later.  Jon is a Sunday school teacher now but he won't have to teach until we get back; or he gets back anyway since I'll be there 2 WEEKS longer than he is! I'm gonna miss him so much but it will be fun when we get to be together again! It will be the longest we've been apart since we've been married! I know plenty of people who have husbands in the military though so I really can't complain!!

We got new insurance through my work and so far it has been amazing!! We finally have maternity insurance (for when we need it) and we have started a 'save for a baby' fund! Yay!  Also, my birth control prescription is SO much cheaper and that will really be a blessing!! Things are really falling into place for us now and it is very exciting!

Jon is doing well in school and he is really enjoying it!  Work is going better and better for me as I am getting better and faster at it! It's been awesome!

AND our 3 year Anniversary is on Saturday!!! I can't believe it has been 3 years!! It has been the best years of my life!!

Anyway!! Let me know if you want to do something while I'm in Utah!! I do have to work while I'm there but I'll have time in the evenings and mornings so let me know!!

This is my FAVORITE Christmas song!!! Enjoy!! (The song, not the video)

Tis The Season

I can't even tell you the joy that this time of year brings me!!

As soon as I start to see Christmas commercials and ads in the newspaper with little snowflakes or ornaments on them.  I have already taken my time to wander through the Christmas isles of multiple stores! Just doing so brings the biggest smile to my face, a warmth in my heart, and sparkle in my eye that even I can tell is there.

My husband enjoys it too but I think he finds more enjoyment seeing how excited I get.  I definitely do a lot of squealing and it always makes him laugh!

We bought Christmas lights to put on the outside of our house yesterday!! We plan to put them up this week before it gets too cold!  I am so excited! This will the first time since we have been married that we have been able to decorate the outside of our house with lights!! It's going to be great!!!

I am still trying to find a radio station that plays Christmas music out here, but until I do at least I have Pandora!!

And SNOW!! I can't tell you how excited I am for snow!! All my Utah friends have now had it twice and my Rexburg friends got their first snow today and I am dying over here of jealousy!!!

As much as I know some people really despise the snow I can honestly tell you that I have NEVER hated the snow! Not even when it decides to snow in April.  Not even when I am severely delayed in my travels because of it, which happened last winter.  I have never had negative feelings against snow! I love snow!

It's so beautiful and pure. I love the way it silences the world around you and makes everything quiet.  Sure it's cold, but think about, it is MUCH colder on days that there is no snow, especially if there are no clouds in the sky, those winter days are the worst, not the ones with snow!! I think it's even fun to drive in it!!! It's so fun! Just go slow enough and you'll be fine!! I love it at night when the street lights shine on it and turn it orange, and you are driving super slow on the freeway because it is snowing like crazy.  I love all of it!! LET IT SNOW! LET IT SNOW! LET IT SNOW!!!

I have been singing the song 'Silver Bells' a lot lately. I just love the way it describes Christmastime.

City sidewalks, busy sidewalks dressed in holiday style. In the air there's a feeling of Christmas.
Children laughing, people passing meeting smile after smile and on ev'ry street corner you'll hear

Silver bells, silver bells.  It's Christmas time in the city. Ring a ling hear them sing, soon it will be Christmas day

Strings of street lights, even stop lights blink a bright red and green as the shoppers rush home with their treasures.  Hear the snow crunch, see the kids bunch.  This is Santa's big scene and above all this bustle you'll hear silver bells.

 Isn't it just perfect!?!!'

IT'S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR!!!!

All of the pictures are from our big trip we took last winter!!

A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words

WOW!! I can't believe I did 4 blog posts without putting on ANY pictures!! Yuck! Personally, I have a harder time staying interested in blogs that never post pictures so I can't believe I did it for so long!!

So to make up for it, here are some pictures of our lives recently!!

Lovely Fall Leaves!

Fall Ball!

My pumpkin

My pumpkin

Jon's super duper amazing University of Michigan pumpkin!!

Jon's awesome Iron Man pumpkin!

My other pumpkin!  I totally picked this patten only because it reminded me of Harry Potter! :)

Jon's other pumpkin!

Us together!

There you have it! That was pretty much our month of October!

Unfortunately we didn't dress up for Halloween.  We didn't have a need to and didn't feel like spending the time to come with something just for the 10 trick-or-treaters we got! We still had fun together though and decided to start a new tradition.  Every Halloween we will eat Vindaloo for dinner (one of my favorite meals, a spicy red sauce from India that goes over rice) and we will call it Vinda-Boo (we colored the rice green!)  and then we would go to a movie.  So on Monday we went and saw Easy A! It was super funny!!

So there you are, my attempt at making it up to you for the lack of pictures! :)

New Header...Again

So I changed my header picture again! Are you surprised?! I'm not! As much as I always think I'll keep the one I have I tend to get bored with it and change it up.

As much I as I think this one might stay for good, I won't really count on it; however, I did make this one with the intention of changing it often so that might be just what I needed!!

So the plan is to change out the pictures with the most recently ones. We do a lot of 'self pictures' and I am planning to only use self pictures when I change them.  Other pictures of us can go in the sidebars!

I will also be changing the background.  Since it's finally getting cold and it's NOVEMBER!! YAY!! I decided to do snowflakes for now.  When December comes I can change it something Christmas-y like ornaments or something.  It'll be fun! I'm excited!! :)

Also, speaking of Christmas, some people make me sad!! I don't know why every year we have to get all the ornery people complaining about people singing Christmas music or hearing it on the radio or in the stores or whatever.  I guess maybe I can understand if you don't celebrate Christmas, but otherwise the excuse 'I get sick of hearing it' is just ludicrous to me!!  Christmastime is the best time of the year and I vote that we take advantage of it as much as we can!! :) I mean, what other time of the year do you find people just happy and enjoying their loved ones, why can't we just wrap ourselves up in and enjoy all of it!? :) :) :) Personally, I never get tired of Christmas music, but if you do then don't listen to it! There are plenty of other radio stations to listen to.

So don't be a hater, enjoy the Holidays! That's what they are for!

That's all for my little rant, haha! :) p.s. Since obviously it's hard to express emotion on the internet, I wanted to point out that my silly 'rant' was not said in an 'angry/irritated' tone, but a 'happy/you people are so silly' tone! :)

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!

Bad Dreams

Do you ever have recurring dreams?

My most often recurring dream isn't actually exactly the same dream all the time.  It always happens when I am napping (versus sleeping at night) and it is usually when I know I have to wake up at a certain time.

In the dream I am asleep in my current napping place and I can't wake up.  Usually I struggle as hard as I can in the dream to wake up and end up being able to wake up a little and try to move around but my eyes are closed or mostly closed and I can't see and I can barely walk and I can't wake up entirely no matter how hard I try.

Today I had this dream only I realized I was dreaming and struggled to wake up and when I thought I did I found the same problem I couldn't really wake up and realized again it was a dream and tried to wake up.  Then I thought I did wake up again but still couldn't wake up.  Finally I really woke up and now I feel all bothered and weird.  All of this tends to happen within a very short amount of time.  I always wake up to find the time to have barely changed though it felt like ages.

I wonder sometimes if it really was just a dream or if I am internally struggling to wake up and I really can't.  I think it might be the latter because I always feel so unrested by the time I wake up.  My mind races with worry that one day I really won't be able to wake up.

Have you ever had dreams like that?

Lonely

The past week or so I have been feeling pretty down.  Husband is gone a lot at school and I work a lot.

Mostly though I have missing people.  Specific people as well as just people in general.  I usually don't see anyone other than my husband until Sunday at church.  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the time that I do get to spend with my husband but I miss being able to see other people.

Being on facebook makes things easier as well as more difficult.  Easier because I get to keep in touch with everyone, and harder because I am jealous of all the things they do without me.

I miss my family! Recently they have gone to witches night out, to see Devil, to Desert Star, and to a Quidditch match and while I am so glad they are having such a great time together it does leave a little ache in my heart that I cannot be there to share it with them.

I miss Rochele SO MUCH!! I think about her everyday and how much fun we used to have and all the things we used to do together, no matter how small those things were.  And since she had her son it breaks my heart to hear of all the people that have been able to see him and I haven't and every day I wonder what she is doing and how it must feel for her to have Connor there finally.  I am so thrilled for her!

I miss Erick and Kira, who we haven't seen in ages!! I miss how much fun we would have when we got together!

I miss all my lovely Utah friends who are just living there lives and playing with each other.

I miss all my summer friends who are out there being awesome and beautiful!

I just miss having people around.  That's all. Love you all!! :)

Connor Judd Fillmore

Here is an even better video!!

My best friend Rochele had her baby on October 18th!  He weighed 8lbs, 3 oz and was 21 inches long!

I am heartbroken that I don't know when I'll finally get to see him in person but we are hoping to get on Skype soon so we can at least see him!

Her husband Kevin, just posted this on Facebook and YouTube and I think it is the most precious video I have ever seen! I definitely cried during the whole thing!  Thanks so much Kevin! (Hope you don't mind me sharing your awesome work!)  *** And don't worry, nothing scary in the video! :)

All Is Love

I found this great blog yesterday called Gwen in Love.  It's definitely a good one! The new button I just put up (see below to the left) is from her site.  Her blog is "An old fashioned girl's guide to love, marriage, and rockin' hot sex."  I really like it and she posted this video on her blog that I just had to share.  I think is SO cute and how much fun would it be to do this with your honey?

Isn't it the cutest ever?!

MIA

So I know I have been missing in action for a while now and I apologize!!  I haven't forgotten about you, I just have been really busy with work as well as lazy getting up in the morning so I don't really have the time!!

I am super excited because my super amazing gorgeous friend Rochele is having her baby soon!! If she doesn't pop earlier she will be induced on Thursday!! I am so excited for her, her husband Kevin, and their soon to be new baby boy Connor!! I can't wait to see pictures of him.  I am super disappointed that I live so far away right now because I have no idea when I'll be able to see him in person, but he is sure going to be a lucky baby with parents like them!

Also, Jon asked me to go to the medical school Fall Ball with him!! It's on Friday and I am SUPER EXCITED!! He sent me on a treasure hunt in order to ask me, it was a lot of fun!! We went out and bought me a new dress and jewelry and sexy shoes!!! And he got new stuff too!! It's going to be a blast!!

I'll keep you updated on all the fun stuff, I hope you are all doing amazing!!
