{ Amore }

My husband is so sweet! I came home from school the other day and found this on the bathroom mirror!

(The picture looks blurry but it's actually the double reflection of the writing)

It's been a weird week.  We have lost a few wonderful people and it has made me realize how grateful I am to have my husband around. I don't know what I would do without him.

Also, my mother! I love her so much and I can't imagine a life in which I couldn't call her whenever I wanted. She is always there for me and I miss being close enough to visit with her!

{ Time Flies }

I cannot believe that it is almost August!! WOW!!  I take my last test on August 16th for school and then I just need to finish up my student clinic hours and then graduation day on September 8th!! I really need to study more than I am doing but I think I should be able to pass my final just fine! I just can't wait for it to be over, it's going to get here so fast!!  The first weekend of August I am learning hot stone massage with my best friend from school Michelle, so that will be tons of fun.

I did find the one down side of not being on birth control anymore, breakouts. So irritating! I never even realized that the reason why my breakouts stopped was because I got on birth control, so that was a fun surprise when I got done. Oh well, the benefits WAY outweigh the down side! :)

I was at the craft store today and was simply delighted to find out that they just put out their Halloween stuff!!!!! I am way to excited than I should be! Haha!! The best time of the year is definitely from my birthday on August 29th until New Years!  Four months of pure BLISS!!! I love it!!! There is actually a bit of coolness in the air today, that's a nice change.  Summer is NOT my favorite season, probably my least favorite actually.  Right now I'm listening to the 'Halloween' station on Pandora! :)  P.s. Marilyn Manson singing 'This is Halloween' is pretty creepy....

The reason I was at the craft store was because I have about 3 pairs of pants that the zipper is broken and once it happened to my favorite pair, I refused to throw them away.  So I spent a LARGE portion of my day trying to fix them.  I don't have a sewing machine so I had to do it all by hand, BUT they are fixed!!! Yay!!
And I found the ribbon in the Halloween section! :)

Thank you Pinterest!!

{ The Time Our Family Came To Michigan }

At the end of June we got a visit from Jonathan's parents and his little sister, Angela! Their decision to come out was kind of sudden but we couldn't have been happier that they were finally going to come to Michigan to see us!! They drove all the way from Utah, which took them 2 days, and they stayed for about a week and half!!

We had such a great time with them while they were here! We went to a few big parks and took walks.  It is cool that there are places like that even right in the middle of town.  One of things I love about Michigan is that I can feel like I'm in the middle of the woods right in the middle of Ann Arbor.  We had a campfire one night and made tin foil dinners and s'mores, as well as had a good time with some masked visitors.  We went to the Henry Ford Museum.  We even took a trip up to Palmyra, New York to see some church historical sites like the Hill Cumorah and the Sacred Grove.  It was really special to see all those places that we have always only heard about.  I'm really glad to have finally been able to see it!

All in the same position, haha!

Now tell me that is not the cutest face ever!

On the 4th of July we went up to Jonathan's aunt's parents house and spent some time with his uncle and cousins.  They live on a lake and we were able to go out on the boat! Jon went water skiing and even stood up once! :)  It looked hard and I'm scared of being in the water in lakes...too dark... I did go tubing though! That was a lot of fun!!! That evening we bought some fountain fireworks and did them in the front yard.  I was really grateful to Jon for making sure we did fireworks.  I LOVE the Fourth of July!!

Tubing, I did NOT want to fall in the water, haha!

Other things we did:  Catching fireflies with Angela, ate lots of pizza, went swimming at the hotel in Palmyra, played Plants vs Zombies, and had a lot of fun with our family!!

Thanks for coming out guys! It was so great to see you!!

Also, my parents just bought a house in Arizona!!! They are so excited! I am so excited for them! I love Arizona!! They are planning to be heading down there by the end of the month!! CRAZY!!! I can't wait to go and visit them down there!!

Jonathan has officially decided to take this year to do research and to continue with school next May.  He is working in a really great lab that should be able to help him get some papers published, which will be great for when he applies for residency! I am so proud of him! He is super busy but he still takes the time to do things with his wife! :)

I am in the last stretch of school.  We are currently learning Neuromuscular Therapy and once we are done with that we are DONE! It's crazy!! I'm starting to realize how much I am going to miss my classmates! It's really incredible how close you get to people in only a year! I take my final on August 16th and then, assuming I pass, we have nothing to do until the day of graduation on September 8th! I am planning on getting certified in hot stone massage in the beginning of August and then in prenatal massage at the end of September and then I just need to take my National Certification exam and I'll be ready to rock and roll! Though I am planning on trying to find a job before I graduate!

So, life is sure busy, but it is GREAT!! Things are just wonderful here in the Peterson household!!

p.s. We are babysitting this little dude for the summer! His name is Kyle and he is so adorable!! :)

{ Too Optimistic? }

I was on Facebook today (just like every other day) and one of my friends said something that made me think.

She posted a status and someone said they wished that Facebook had a dislike button, which is of course a common wish among Facebook users.  Then my friend said that she wished she had a dislike button and that sometimes Facebook is too optimistic.

It just made me all of sudden kind of glad that there isn't a dislike button! Of course there are plenty of things that go on in everyone's lives that aren't positive, that's life.  What's so wrong with being the kind of person who looks on the bright side?! I hope that I can make more of an effort to see all of the blessings and good things in my life and not focus on the negative quite so much!  I want to be 'too optimistic'!

So thanks Facebook for actually teaching me something good today! :)

I hope you all have a bright, joyful, and optimistic week!!

{ So In Love }

Let me just start by saying.... I LOVE MY LIFE!!!

No, things are not perfect and there is a lot of stuff going on right now that I would rather not deal with, but as a whole...my life is amazing!! It all boils down to the fact that I have such an amazing man at my side.  If it weren't for him and the love he has for me, then life would be so much harder to handle.

I tend to find that if things are good with us as a couple, then things are good with life in general.  He IS my life...

We finally started watching and got caught up with The Bachelorette and I was watching it and thinking (and saying) "Aww, how cute.... He's so adorable..." and all those other mushy, cute, disgusting adorable things... I realized how incredibly blessed I am to have my husband.  Instead of looking at those people and thinking "I wish I had that", all I think about is how amazing it is that I DO have that.  I am have not been left wanting when it comes to love and marriage.  How did I get so lucky...it leaves me speechless...breathless...

I was on the phone with my Mom the other day and we were talking about marriages and divorce and love and life and she told me that even though Jon and I have been married for 4.5 years that we still act like newlyweds and that was so good to hear from her!! I am constantly in awe of my husband and the love that we have and the way that we continue to treat each other.

So, just to let you know...

I AM SO IN LOVE WITH JONATHAN PETERSON!!!

{ Time For a Vacation }

After Jon took his exam we got to go on a little trip!! We went with our friends Katy and Clayton to Nashville, TN where we just stayed for the night.  It was really cool to see Nashville again! I love it there! The next morning we stopped at the Loveless Cafe, which we had heard about on the Food Network! It was delicious!! We got a family style breakfast and we all ate way too much!! We also took a little stop in Mt. Juliet and went to the Kroger that we used to always go to when we lived there.  It was a lot of fun!

Then we made our way to our true destination! The Smoky Mountains!! We stayed in a cabin that was up the road from Townsend, which is really close to both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.  The cabin was awesome!! It was up a really steep road and very secluded.  It was big and open and had lots of windows and a HOT TUB!  We stayed for only 2 nights but spent the whole time grilling, and hot tubbing, and roasting marshmallows over the fire.  There was definitely a lot of creative marshmallows! Ones filled with Reese's and bananas and all sorts of other things.  Even a banana that was filled with marshmallows and too much candy! Haha! It was a lot of fun!

We also made a stop in Pigeon Forge one afternoon and were pretty surprised by how absurdly touristy the place was!!!  It was insane!! So we picked one of the many places to play mini golf and that was a blast! The last couple of holes we were being rained on, but that was fun too! Then we stopped for some cheese-steak sandwiches and frozen yogurt.  Then we took a lovely drive up the mountain! It was gorgeous!!  We even saw the Appalachian Trail!! Such a fun trip!!

A few days after that we finally went to Cedar Point!! We've been wanting to go since we moved here and we finally just decided to do it!! So we hopped in the car, drove the 2 hours down to Ohio, and got to the park as it was opening!  It was a little chilly and cloudy and early in the season so the lines were never very long! It rocked!! We had originally planned to say the whole day but about 3 hours or so before they closed we had been on all of the rides we wanted, a few more than once, and to be honest we were kind of roller-coastered out! It was an amazing day!! The rides were fantastic and I even got the biggest snow cone of my life!!! It was the perfect way to let of some steam and just have some fun! We needed it! :)

{ Step 1 + Jon's Birthday }

Jonathan took his Step 1 exam!! YAY!!! SO glad that it's over!  He hasn't found out what he got yet, hopefully soon! It was pretty much what all of the other wives of med students told me it was going to be like.  I'm glad they told me so that I could be prepared.  I honestly didn't realize how bad it had been though until it was over and all of a sudden I had my regular, happy, loving husband back! I sure missed that guy!! :)

After he finished his test I brought him pizza from Pizza House! We went to the mall for a bit and got some new clothes.  Then we went to see Avengers in 3D! SUCH a good movie!! We had a blast!!!

The next week was Jon's 27th birthday!! The night before we had some friends over for a BBQ and games! He got some fun gifts from his friends!  On his actual birthday he opened his presents from me! The biggest being a .22 handgun.  I couldn't actually buy it for him so we went to get his permit and then went to pick one out.  We got to shoot it the next day and he loved it! The rest of the day was spent relaxing, eating Korean chicken, and spending time together! It was a great day!
