Mammoth Caves With Ranger Rick

Yesterday Jon took the day off of work to spend it with his family. We decided that if he got 3 sales the day before that he could take the day off, and well, he got 3 sales! It was pretty darn
amazing!!

So we drove 2 hours to get up to Mammoth Caves. It kind of sucked. In order to sit by Jon I had to sit in the middle the whole way with both my seat belt and the one next to me digging into my bottom and my feet on the hump for 2 whole hours! It was a long ride and I wasn't in the best mood but I tried to make the best of it. We went on two tours. The first one was the longer one. It was a pretty neat cave, I liked all the turns and cave pretties. It's a really old cave and had a lot of history which was fairly interesting to listen to. Mammoth Caves is the longest cave in the United States. If you put the next 5 longest inside of it they still wouldn't be as long. Of course we didn't see all of it!! That would have taken forever!! There are quite a few different tours you can take to different parts of the cave.

After that we ate lunch at the diner there. It was surprisingly great food!! We all just loved it! Yummy! Then we went on another tour. I didn't really want to do another tour but I've kind of learned that I just need to tag along, so I went. It turned out that I was really glad I did! Our guide's name was Ranger Rick and he was this fairly old guy with a long beard and he was SO FUNNY!! We laughed so much!! He made all sort of jokes. This part of the cave was a lot different than any cave I had ever been in. It was pretty much all dry and didn't have stalactites or stalagmites and it was ENORMOUS!!! There wasn't a tight squeeze anywhere, it was just huge! It was really amazing to see and hear about all the history about it. I don't really like history stories but Ranger Rick sure made it interesting and funny! We liked him a lot! We also got to see some bats and cave crickets! Way cool!!

It was a lot of fun, but the 2 hour ride back was not so much. Haha.

My Life Is Full Of Glee

Once again, I failed to post on Friday... But this time I have an excuse! Jon's parents came to visit last Thursday and I spent all day Friday with them, so I didn't actually have time! I'll make sure I post my hubby this Friday and I'll make it a really good one! :)

We have been having a pretty good time with the Peterson's here. Jon really loves having them here. His little sister can be a little much, but we love her too. We haven't done too much. Both of his parents came to Tennessee on their missions so they have been spending most of the time driving around to see the places they remember and Jon is gone working during that time, so it's been working pretty well. We mostly just hang out and play games in the evening. This morning we sat down to discuss our finances with his parents (my favorite thing to talk about...NOT) but it actually turned out to be okay. We have been making progress to pay off our debt and it feels good to be on the right track. His parents also asked us if they could take Jon's student loan away from us. We were both super grateful! It was a crazy generous thing to do and I am constantly amazed by how much they for us! That's one of our biggest debts and they just wanted to be the ones to pay for it. Of course we said yes, haha! They are amazing people and I love them so much!!

I have been looking for a second job because the one I currently have has not been sending me assignments. I probably haven't had an assignment in about 3 and 1/2 weeks now. It really sucks! I hate looking for another job when I already have one! It's even worse than looking when I don't have one!! But we need the money so I'm trying to do something to help out. I kind of have the feeling that when we get to Michigan I might have to go and find a job outside of the home for a while, but we'll see how it all goes.

I'm really excited but worried too about getting to Michigan. We've always had Pinnacle since we've been married. We've always had plenty of money to get by plus a little extra and when we get to Michigan not only will be making less but Jon won't be working at all and all of it will be put on me and any loans we might be able to get for school. It's a scary thought but I know it all work out in the end. I just hope it doesn't shock us too much...

I have started watching Glee since we got here! I went online and was able to watch all of the first episodes that I missed and we have it set to record every week! I wasn't sure I would like it, which is why it took me so long to start watching it in the first place but I definitely love it now!! Jon really likes it too, which is awesome!!! I love how all of the characters are so different from each other and they all have weird quirks and problems. They aren't the perfect characters we see on so many shows. I love all of them for different reasons, even the bad characters. Haha! I think my top favorites are Emma, Kurt, Sue, and Brittany. They are all such funny and interesting characters! Of course I like all the main characters too, it's really hard to pick a favorite!! They are all great! I love the music they sing, it's fun to watch. I adored the Single Ladies episode!!! That was the best!! HAHA! I love Kurt!! Anyway, it's official, I LOVE GLEE!!

I have been terrible at taking pictures since we got here. I love my camera but I sure miss our little digital camera. It's so much easier to take places. Oh well! I'll try to be better at it so my posts aren't so boring!

MY HUSBAND ROCKS Friday

So I haven't done this for a few weeks and I feel terrible!!! My husband still rocks!! Haha! I love him so much!!

This week my husband rocks because he's open and honest. If he wants me do something or doesn't want me to do something he lets me know. He lets me know exactly how my cooking is, even when it's not good. I always feel bad it wasn't perfect but I'm glad to know what I did wrong so that I can learn from it and fix it. He is always working to make our relationship the best it can be and he comes to be when he is feeling down. Ever since we first starting dating it was a really big deal to him that we be completely honest with each other, and while sometimes it can be hard because we don't want to hurt each other's feelings, it has helped us to be able to improve our love and bring us so much closer together.

He is just the greatest husband in the whole world, sorry to all those other husbands... haha. Just kidding! ;) I love my darling husband!!

Summertime!!!

Life in Nashville has been amazing so far!! We love the area, the weather is gorgeous and we are out here with people we love. I'm so happy to have Rochele out here and we have spent a lot of time together. Last weekend we had a quite a few more people come out and this week there have been even more. It's weird to think that there aren't any more people coming out that we know from last summer. Definitely people we know, but not from last summer. There are just 3 girls from last summer who came out this summer. Me, Rochele, and Chelsey. We're excited to meet new faces and make new friends! I am also really excited for Jon's recruits to come out!

Jon is at 11 sales so far! He is doing really well and I'm so proud of him! We are doing well saving our money so far which is something we struggle with during the summer. All of a sudden we have money and feel like we need to spend it, but so far, we are doing well saving it. Our goal this year is to pay off all of our debt and hopefully be able to buy a condo in Ann Arbor.

Cooking is going well. I have done a few new recipes that I probably won't post because I'm lazy. Haha. I'll work on starting to post them up again!

I've been doing pretty well at reading my scriptures everyday and so is Jon. It's been a cool thing to do and something that I have always struggled with but I can see how important it is. Yesterday and Monday I didn't read my scriptures and they were just terrible days. But today I read them and while nothing has happened yet in my day, I already feel so much happier and content and ready to do what needs to be done. It's a great feeling!

I hope everyone is doing well! I love you all!

Life...and Food

Things are going fairly well out here in Nashville but it's been a little tough. Jon got sick the week we got out here and then when he got better he didn't have a technician for a few days so he couldn't go out to sell. Then, a few days ago, he pulled his neck and we had to go to the chiropractor and he told us that Jon had got Torticollis. He went in for an adjustment yesterday and is doing a little better today. He has another appointment on Monday for an adjustment so hopefully it will be all healed fairly soon.

So selling has been hard for us so far but when he does get the chance to go out and sell he has been doing well. Once we get past the first few weeks and gets rid of the rust then things should start to pick up too so we are excited about that.

Work is going well for me. I haven't had an assignment in a few days, which is weird and is making me a little nervous but it has also left me free to be able to take care of Jon so maybe God is just looking out for me. I sure hope that's what it is!

Kevin and Rochele are going to get out here on Monday and I am SO FREAKING EXCITED!!! We won't be alone anymore and the summer will really get to start! I can't wait! We also have a few guys who will be coming out a few days later and in the middle of April most everyone will be here! We just have the last few people who will be coming at the beginning of May and I can't wait for everyone to be here! We're gonna party!! Woo!! I'm so excited!!

I made Balsamic Chicken with Rice and Black Bean Pilaf a few nights ago. Once again I didn't take pictures. Sometimes a girl has just got to eat! Haha! Both were very good. I like the Orange-Balsamic Chicken that I made last week better, but it was still really good. I really liked the Rice Pilaf but it really didn't go together. Haha. It would go great with the Enchiladas I made a few days ago though, it really was more of a Mexican side dish! Really yummy!

I found these recipes on foodnetwork.com. I rate both recipes 4 stars!!
