The Best Three Years

Jon and I just celebrated our 3rd year anniversary!!!  I cannot even believe that it has been 3 years!!! We have done so many things and our lives have changed in so many ways! We are more in love than ever and we couldn't be happier!

On our anniversary we slept in a little and just enjoyed each other.  Then we got up and made sushi for lunch!!!! It was so yummy! We haven't made sushi in a long time and it was a blast.  We definitely made more than we could eat so we saved what we couldn't devour!  We made some new rolls too!! We made a Michigan roll that had yellow and blue on top! It was delish!!

After we ate we got packed and hit the road.  We drove to Cleveland, listening to a book on CD on the way.  We LOVE road trips and driving so even that part was a blast!  We got some tasty snacks a bit before we got to the hotel and we spent the rest of the night relaxing, being alone, eating the leftover sushi, soaking our feet in bath salts in the tub, going through pictures from this year, and having a blast together!!! It was so much fun!!   I got Jon a big pack of his favorite pasta, which is really hard to find, and a book called Soul Pancake, which was written by Rainn Wilson (Dwight from The Office!).  He loved it! He got me an awesome necklace, angel wing earrings, and a bracelet with a key on it!  He is SUCH an amazing listener!! He pays attention to things I tell him.  He knows I LOVE keys and wings and he even shopped at Icing, which I took him too before Fall Ball to get my jewelry.  He is AMAZING!!!

On the way home we stopped at a store called Bronners! It is the LARGEST CHRISTMAS STORE IN THE WORLD!! Or so they claim, and it was ENORMOUS!! It is open all year and always sells Christmas trees.  They had everything you could ever want!! It was so awesome!!!

It was an fantastic anniversary!!!

The Beginning Of The End

Jon and I went and saw Harry Potter 7 at midnight last night!! Our showing started at 12:01 and we were in the IMAX theater!!! It ROCKED!!! And because the IMAX theater is assigned seating, we got there about 20 minutes before the movie started and didn't have to worry about getting crap seats!! YAY!  We were about in the middle of the screen and exactly half way up, it was perfect! My man rocks for getting us those seats!

For dinner before we left we ordered pizza and I asked them to put the olives in the shape of lightening bolt to celebrate the occasion.  I forgot to take a picture, but that's okay, it didn't look that great, haha!

Then Jon had to study so I spent my free time getting ready to go.  I put on dark (ish) makeup and painted my nails black (which is my most favorite color to paint them!) and then I drew the dark mark on my arm.  I did pretty good if I do say so myself.  Especially since I had to do it upside down!

Then we both got dressed all in black and wore long coats.  I wore my boots and tucked a chopstick inside one to be my wand. Haha!

It was so fun when we got to the theater.  It's so exciting to see people get all dressed up and what other time do so many strangers get along so well?! It was so exciting!

While we were waiting for the movie to start some random guy ran into the theater and yelled "TROLL!!! Troll in the dungeon!!!" And pretended to faint.  It was so funny.  He got lots of cheers!

Then someone came out with a microphone an asked everyone to turn off their phones then told us they would only start the movie when we got loud enough.  So cheering and clapping and stomping ensued and the movie started!

AND IT WAS SUCH A GREAT MOVIE!!! It was so funny and it looked so good, it followed the book so well and it was just fantastic!!! I'm so glad the next one is coming out in only 6 months instead of year!!

I am so glad I read the book again before going to see the movie because Jon had to ask me a bunch of questions after the movie!  I definitely want to go and see it again!!

Simply Having A Wonderful Christmastime

We put the lights up on our house over the weekend!! It looks awesome!! Jon still wants to do a little more but that won't be done until after we get back from our trip to Utah!! (We leave in a week from today! Crazy!!)

Jon also fixed up the car to get it ready for the winter.  We had to get a new battery because it kept dying on us! Jon figured out that it was because it was leaking so it was losing power really fast! But he fixed it up by himself as well as bunch of other things that needed to be done and now it's all ready for the winter and we saved a butt load of money because we didn't need to have a mechanic do it! My husband is so great! He is such a good handyman!! He also put up a gutter over our front door because since we didn't have one and we kept getting dripped on whenever it rained!

It still hasn't snowed here and I AM SO SAD!! Mostly because I don't think it will snow before we leave and I bet it will snow before I get back (3 weeks later) and that means I will MISS our first snow in Michigan!! Poo!!

AND I found out from Jon yesterday that Stephens brand hot cocoa is a FREAKING UTAH thing!!! NOOOOOO!!!! Stephens is the best!!! They don't have anything awesome out here!! What about all the different flavors?!?! Chocolate mint, french vanilla, and my all time favorite Irish cream (YUM!)!! I don't know what I'm gonna do, it sucks, but I guess it is just hot cocoa, I'm sure I'll survive!!

They started playing Christmas music on the radio though!!! YAY!!!!! I am so excited!!! It's definitely Christmastime!! The commercials on the radio and TV are filled with Christmas ads and it's the best!! We got peppermint bark at Costco yesterday!! It is to DIE for!!!! You must try some!!

So things are going well! I am loving my nursery calling in church. Those kids are so precious!! I'll share some stories later.  Jon is a Sunday school teacher now but he won't have to teach until we get back; or he gets back anyway since I'll be there 2 WEEKS longer than he is! I'm gonna miss him so much but it will be fun when we get to be together again! It will be the longest we've been apart since we've been married! I know plenty of people who have husbands in the military though so I really can't complain!!

We got new insurance through my work and so far it has been amazing!! We finally have maternity insurance (for when we need it) and we have started a 'save for a baby' fund! Yay!  Also, my birth control prescription is SO much cheaper and that will really be a blessing!! Things are really falling into place for us now and it is very exciting!

Jon is doing well in school and he is really enjoying it!  Work is going better and better for me as I am getting better and faster at it! It's been awesome!

AND our 3 year Anniversary is on Saturday!!! I can't believe it has been 3 years!! It has been the best years of my life!!

Anyway!! Let me know if you want to do something while I'm in Utah!! I do have to work while I'm there but I'll have time in the evenings and mornings so let me know!!

This is my FAVORITE Christmas song!!! Enjoy!! (The song, not the video)

Tis The Season

I can't even tell you the joy that this time of year brings me!!

As soon as I start to see Christmas commercials and ads in the newspaper with little snowflakes or ornaments on them.  I have already taken my time to wander through the Christmas isles of multiple stores! Just doing so brings the biggest smile to my face, a warmth in my heart, and sparkle in my eye that even I can tell is there.

My husband enjoys it too but I think he finds more enjoyment seeing how excited I get.  I definitely do a lot of squealing and it always makes him laugh!

We bought Christmas lights to put on the outside of our house yesterday!! We plan to put them up this week before it gets too cold!  I am so excited! This will the first time since we have been married that we have been able to decorate the outside of our house with lights!! It's going to be great!!!

I am still trying to find a radio station that plays Christmas music out here, but until I do at least I have Pandora!!

And SNOW!! I can't tell you how excited I am for snow!! All my Utah friends have now had it twice and my Rexburg friends got their first snow today and I am dying over here of jealousy!!!

As much as I know some people really despise the snow I can honestly tell you that I have NEVER hated the snow! Not even when it decides to snow in April.  Not even when I am severely delayed in my travels because of it, which happened last winter.  I have never had negative feelings against snow! I love snow!

It's so beautiful and pure. I love the way it silences the world around you and makes everything quiet.  Sure it's cold, but think about, it is MUCH colder on days that there is no snow, especially if there are no clouds in the sky, those winter days are the worst, not the ones with snow!! I think it's even fun to drive in it!!! It's so fun! Just go slow enough and you'll be fine!! I love it at night when the street lights shine on it and turn it orange, and you are driving super slow on the freeway because it is snowing like crazy.  I love all of it!! LET IT SNOW! LET IT SNOW! LET IT SNOW!!!

I have been singing the song 'Silver Bells' a lot lately. I just love the way it describes Christmastime.

City sidewalks, busy sidewalks dressed in holiday style. In the air there's a feeling of Christmas.
Children laughing, people passing meeting smile after smile and on ev'ry street corner you'll hear

Silver bells, silver bells.  It's Christmas time in the city. Ring a ling hear them sing, soon it will be Christmas day

Strings of street lights, even stop lights blink a bright red and green as the shoppers rush home with their treasures.  Hear the snow crunch, see the kids bunch.  This is Santa's big scene and above all this bustle you'll hear silver bells.

 Isn't it just perfect!?!!'

IT'S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR!!!!

All of the pictures are from our big trip we took last winter!!

A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words

WOW!! I can't believe I did 4 blog posts without putting on ANY pictures!! Yuck! Personally, I have a harder time staying interested in blogs that never post pictures so I can't believe I did it for so long!!

So to make up for it, here are some pictures of our lives recently!!

Lovely Fall Leaves!

Fall Ball!

My pumpkin

Us together!

There you have it! That was pretty much our month of October!

Unfortunately we didn't dress up for Halloween.  We didn't have a need to and didn't feel like spending the time to come with something just for the 10 trick-or-treaters we got! We still had fun together though and decided to start a new tradition.  Every Halloween we will eat Vindaloo for dinner (one of my favorite meals, a spicy red sauce from India that goes over rice) and we will call it Vinda-Boo (we colored the rice green!)  and then we would go to a movie.  So on Monday we went and saw Easy A! It was super funny!!

So there you are, my attempt at making it up to you for the lack of pictures! :)
